How We Verify Awards

Our rules

1. The sponsor's own page. We load each award's official page and read it ourselves. We don't copy from scholarship aggregators.
2. No page, no listing. If we can't load and confirm a program's official page, we leave it out, even if it's well known. On our last check, two well-known women's education funds blocked our checks, so they aren't listed yet.
3. Dated. Every listing shows the day we checked it (Verified Nov 7, 2026).
4. Amounts and deadlines only when published. When we repeat a figure, we say "per the sponsor's site as of Nov 2026." We give deadline months rather than exact dates, since dates shift each year.
5. No paid placement, no fees. No sponsor pays to be listed, and we don't list anything that charges an application fee, following the FTC's advice to never pay to apply.

What we don't do

No star ratings, no testimonials, no "we won this" stories. If we use a statistic, we say where it comes from.
